Overview
In case you missed it, this week's Meta Weekly was the first Meta Weekly after the MCS that Shiranui took by storm, and the last before the KCGT Stage 2 Tournament. We had several Shiranui enter, and a resurgence of older decks to combat it. As such, we had two "Shiranui counters" in the finals, with EndS' Cyber Dragons taking the gold against BlackSnake's Harpies.
Interview with EndS
How do does it feel to win your first Meta Weekly?
It feels great! The funny thing is both times I got to MW finals I didn't plan on playing, but my teammate urged me to enter and that resulted in me getting second and now first place. I've been playing the game for a while so it feels good to win my first tournament after coming second so many times.
Why did you go with Cyber Dragon?
It's the deck I felt most confident went and I like the tech space / deckbuilding options the deck gives. I also have been playing the deck for a long time so I wanted to get a win with it. Also felt that I was gonna have an easy time against Shiranui today and the Loading... s helped with the Resonator matchup, so it felt good enough to win with good hands.
Would you like to explain any of your Deck choices?
Well the Loading... s are very important right now. Booking Shiranui monsters and Thunder Dragon monsters gives lethal with Loading... in a lot of situations. Loading... felt great today too, it won me the majority of my games today by banishing Loading... , Loading... / Loading... , and even Harpies / Thunder Dragon monsters to hinder Loading... / Loading... plays respectively.
Lastly, Do you have anything else you'd like to say about your Tournament Experience? Any shout-outs you'd like to make?
Tournament went smoothly and was a fun experience for me, I'd like to thank the mods and Dkayed for hosting and managing the tournament. I'd like to shout-outVoiceOfJesus for nagging me to play in this tournament, Che, Bash, dredie, Yousef, Darcio, and Domthekid for supporting me the whole way through, and all my clans with QtP, Divinity Horsemen, and Divergents. And of course thanks to the Cydra channel for being hype the whole way through.
