In case you missed it, this week's Meta Weekly was the first weekly with the new banlist and the new box. As such, we had several decks, both new and old, in the Top 32. In the finals, we had Mihawk's Harpies up against VBellaFiore's tried-and-true Blue-Eyes deck in a close three-game series, with VBellaFiore finally coming out on top!

Interview with VBellaFiore

How does it feel to win your first weekly?

It's such a good feeling, especially because of how close I've gotten before. I've seen so many Blue-Eyes decks win it in the past that the desire to win myself has only been building this whole time.

How does it feel playing Blue-Eyes post-banlist?

Seeing Loading... less than before definitely hurts, but more than that, not adding the Loading... with Loading... is really tough when you have to manage discarding cards and Ultimate Dragons . Strangely enough, I also really miss the second Loading... . Even so, the game plan is the same and I still think it's more powerful than the rest of the meta.

How did it go for you today?

It was definitely a mix of easy games and others that felt extremely close. The toughest matchups all day were the Harpies games by far.

Would you like to explain any of your Deck choices, would you make any changes?

Going forward I wouldn't side the Necrovalleys. It was a last-minute decision to cover both Fire Kings and Thunder Dragons but the more I went through the day the less I thought it was a good choice. I don't know what the other two Side Deck cards should be yet but I want to explore other cards that cover those matchups without limiting my own plays. Other than that, everything else was perfect for me.

Lastly, Do you have any shout-outs you'd like to make?

I just gotta shout out the squad at the PHX team and clan for giving me ideas and helping me test. Until this midseason in Clan Wars I didn't test anything with anybody because I didn't really know anyone in the Duel Links community, so they've really helped me feel more confident in tournaments.
