Overview
In case you missed it, this week's Meta Weekly was the first tournament of the new Mini BOX. We had a few Harpies, but the biggest showing so far was Star Seraph Darklords with Loading... . This couldn't be more exemplified by the finals, where we had Snyffus defeat UGotR3kt in the Star Seraph Darklord Mirror, where Hang On Mach was the star. How does it feel to win another Meta Weekly?
It's amazing! The first win was definitely the most satisfying but it doesn't diminish the feeling of accomplishment you get from your next ones. This is my 3rd MW win and it feels good to win 3 times with Darklords. I loved the deck since it came out so representing it consistently at this level throughout different formats is great.
How do you feel about F.A. Hang On Mach in Star Seraph Darklords?
I think Loading... is the best card in the game right now. I'm 100% sure the interaction with Level Augmentation is not intended at all and having a 4000 ATK Beatstick that's unaffected by monster effects is insane, paired with a Loading... it's basically unbeatable. I do think that every deck will have to adapt to this in some shape or form and we'll see a lot of techs change.
Would you like to explain any of your Deck choices? Would you make any changes?
I'm honestly not sure how optimized this list is. The combination of Star Seraph Engine, F.A. Engine and the Darklord Engine definitely was a lot but they were all very useful at different times throughout the tournament. The deck just has a lot of auto-win plays but it might be worth it giving up some of them to be overall more consistent.
The second Loading... in the Side Deck was an experiment to get to the Level 14 Loading... more consistently but it wasn't very useful.
How do you feel about the Meta right now?
I think the meta was pretty unhealthy before this but now it's even worse. Stick + Chair Combo was a complete blowout since it's so much advantage but Loading... completely prevents your opponent from playing. Hoping that everything suddenly gets fixed is wishful thinking so unless we get an "Emergency"-Banlist it's down to figuring out how to deal with these decks the best we can. People usually figure out some kind of new deck in KC Cup and I'm hopeful this one will be no different.
Lastly, Do you have any shout-outs you'd like to make?
I had so many close and intense matches today, it was super fun. Shoutouts to my friends who chilled with me and kept me awake. Thank you to everyone who was supporting me and congratulated me, it means a lot. And a big shoutout grucius, he was the one who helped me built the list and he had the idea to play Star Seraphs in addition to F.A. and Darklords.
