Overview

In case you missed it, this week's Meta Weekly was the first Meta Weekly with the new balance update announcement and the Antinomic Theory Box. As expected with a wide-open format, we had tons of deck diversity in Top Cut. In the end, however, we had TPC Waver and his Ritual Beasts taking on Embraced's Blue-Eyes. While incredible hard fought, Waver could not overcome the matchup, and Embraced took the gold.

Interview with Embraced

How do does it feel to win your first Meta Weekly?

I'm humbled. It's a game where top players bring thier top game, and im just glad to be recognized as a player that can't be underestimated.

How did the day go for you? Any notable matchups?

It was an absolute rollercoaster, I lost in the first round against an amazing Mayakashi player. Have to be honest, I almost gave up. I kept pushing and went into the next rounds and was able to top. Nevertheless, each round was a battle, and I'm just glad that I got through it.

Why did you go with Blue-Eyes

Blue-Eyes was my first competitive deck, and there was no way I could go into a competition without it. In my opinion, Blue-Eyes is the best deck at the moment. I knew it could take me all the way.

Would you like to explain any of your Deck choices? Would you make any changes?

I knew I had to make sure that the cards in my Side synergize with my deck and counter the decks that are hard matchups for Blue-Eyes. Loading... and Loading... pulled through, because they counter decks that like to banish and combo from the Graveyard. While Necrovalley hinders Blue-Eyes a little, if it hinders my opponent a lot more, then it's all worth it.

Lastly, Do you have any shout-outs you'd like to make?

Shoutout to my clan Divinity Horseman and shout out to everyone who supported me all the way. Tournaments can go wrong and can go your way. You just gotta learn from mistakes and go in again. Never surrender, because if you brick, your opponent might have bricked as well, and you can pull through. Thank Dkayed for a great stream and I'll see you in the next one.
