Overview

In case you missed it, this week's Meta Weekly was the last of our No-Side KC Cup Format tournaments for the time being. While Desperado was the most represented deck by far, Top 32 was relatively even across the board. This lead to a TPC showdown in the finals, with former TPC member Buns taking on current TPC member BlackSnake. In the end, however, Buns blew away the competition, taking the crown with his Onomat Deck. If you want to learn more about Buns you can check out his TPC Profile here

Interview with Buns

How do does it feel to win another Meta Weekly?

It feels amazing to win again! This time it's a bit different because I've been playing Onomats since before they were good, and enjoy the deck a lot, so I'm happy to win with the deck and put its name out there.

How do you feel about Onomat's place in the meta?

I think in KCC format it's hands down the best deck, and in Side Deck format its definitely still a Top 3 deck with Desperado and Noble Knights, as it doesnt have any hard counters outside of Side Cards like Loading... or Loading... .

Would you like to explain any of your Deck choices?

I think the deck is figured out for the most part when it comes to techs, and I think my list is pretty optimized. Some people have opted to cut Loading... to keep it 20 Cards, but I like the utility it brings, and that card won the finals by itself.

The last Extra Deck spot is just for situational cards. The second Loading... and Loading... each have their occasional uses that might come up. I chose to play Dire Wolf because I want to have a Xyz that deals with Loading... for good if I can't OTK them that turn.

What are your plans for the KC Cup? Any advice for KCC hopefuls?

Yeah I'm planning to tryhard in the KCC for a Top 10/100 spot and see how it goes. My main advice would be play a deck you're comfortable with so you don't misplay, and don't keep switching between decks all the time just because of a losing streak.

Lastly, Do you have anything else you'd like to say about your Tournament Experience? Any shout-outs you'd like to make?

The tournament went smooth for me and it was a fun experience. I'd like to make a shout-out my team Abusement Park and clan DE~Fusion for supporting me and helping me get better and a final shoutout to zaidking and Dantekk for their support as well!
