Overview
In case you missed it, this week's Meta Championship Series was the first large-scale tournament with the Eternal Stream Main BOX and the new balance update. As such, we had a huge influx of Harpies, taking slightly over half the slots in Top 32. This could be no more exemplified in the finals, where we had a Harpie mirror match, with FireRed550 coming out on top!
Interview with FireRed550
How do does it feel to win the Meta Championship Series?
It feels really good, because I have been working really hard and testing with my clan and friends and to finally win feels like a relief to finally get a first place.
How did the day go for you?
I would say Swiss was smooth sailing for the first four rounds. Then it got more rough but I was able to secure a 5-2 record. Top 32 felt like it went fast.
What was your thought process going into this MCS?
I knew I wanted to play Harpies and make sure my deck was favored in the mirror matches, so I made my Side Deck choices ready for Harpie mirror matches. Loading... and Loading... were my MVP cards of the day. Shout-out to Mithyard for the My Body tech choice.
Anything else you'd like to say about your decklist?
I felt 23 cards was the right choice and for Harpies being able to play more tech cards was critical. Also, maining The Tie that Binds was the right move.
Lastly, any shout-outs you'd like to make?
I would say my tournament experience was really good and I was talking with Max K and my clan and it kept me motivated and kept me pushing. Shout-out to X-0 clan, Dantekk, Mithyard, CamNeal, That's Game Gabe, TRoweses, Rikki and Drizzles. Also, Shout-out to my mom for Mother's Day.
