Deep Emotion Tips & Decklists
Introduction
Yo! I'm
, and you probably won't know me unless you've taken a gander at the few guides I've made on MasterDuelMeta. I've been playing Duel Links for about 3 years at this point, and I may not be a pro player nor do I KoG every month, but I wanted to make a showcase on all the new decks featured in the latest Selection Pack as it holds a few archetypes dear to me. This way more people would be aware of the power these decks can bring and give some tips and tricks, starting off with my old pet deck:The Vtuber Twins make their debut in Duel Links this set... with a very unfortunate spread for their rarities. Really shows how greedy Konami is by making both the starters Ultra Rare, what a world.
A short background for the archetype: The Live and Evil Twins are a duo of, what the community assumes to be, lovers that work as adorable Vtubers by day, and conniving Phantom Thieves by the night, hence their titles. Their livestreaming channel serves as a way for them to gain popularity and control the population while also giving a way for certain individuals to make malicious requests that they execute by nightfall. Most of these requests are acts of just stealing stuff for their clients, as shown in the Evil Twin Trap Cards.
The deck is a pseudo-control Midrange deck whose gameplan revolves around winning through the game of attrition, as the later the game goes on, the stronger the deck gets due to the amount of value they're able to generate. A simple normal summon of Loading... or Loading... starts their engine, if they go uninterrupted the deck gets a recurring Draw 1 with Loading... and a Destroy 1 with Loading... every turn. With the draw power from Ki-sikil usually translating into some form of interaction with the opponent by drawing trap cards such as Loading... or a handtrap such as the newly released Loading... , but of course drawing in-engine is great as well as it means they never really run out of plays.
Quick Explanations for each Archetypal Card:
The Main Starters for the deck. Mandatory 3 of for both, although 2 copies for one of them can work as well. If you are to do this, Lil-la more preferred due to a better On-Field effect.
Beatstick that can help for OTKs. Normally not played without the existence of Loading... , however is pretty good in the format with 4k LP. Their summon effect can be a big help in dismantling huge boards if the opponent doesn't have a way to negate it, outside of that the 4.4k ATK Stat is nice to OTK with against an empty board, or just dealing with another bigger monster. You will normally summon this after destroying a card with Lil-la's effect.
The heart and soul of the deck. Ki-sikil (pink) representing the draw power of the deck and Lil-la (blue) representing a way to interact/disrupt your opponent every turn. Lil-la is usually only a 2 of in the tradition YGO format, but due to how Duel Links works I'd say she's a necessary 3 of due to the unpredictability of the coin flip. Going first you'll be going through 2 copies of Ki-sikil in order to get a draw on your first turn while setting up Lil-la to disrupt the opponent on their turn. Going second is the opposite, starting with Lil-la in order to destroy a card immediately. Note that using their effects locks you into Fiends, meaning you can't just summon a Link 4 with 1 card Turn 1. Knightmares are very recommended because of this lock.
Gets you anything from deck. Can be a starter/extender by grabbing Loading... , or additional interruption with Loading... . Can also search for Loading... if you control both a Ki-sikil and Lil-la monster on board already, which will be relevant for Turn 3 onwards or if you're going second.
An extender or an additional starter. Summons a Live Twin from deck at the cost of a discard. Paired with Loading... , the deck essentially has 9 different ways to start their gameplan. This card will also be very relevant if hit by an Loading... turn 1, or if your initial normal summon was removed going second.
Note that you can't summon non-Evil★Twin Monsters from the Extra after resolving the card's effect, which basically locks you out of the Knightmare toolbox.
Interaction. Can either be Loading... as a trap card or just free backrow removal as long as you control both Ki-sikil and Lil-la.
Best name ever, underwhelming effects. It's just not worth it. This trap can activate your Evil★Twin's effect on board to revive the other twin back from the GY, but other cards wildly outclass this card. Most notably Loading... and Loading... as they have much better effects. This card might be relevant, however, as a way to save yourself from Loading... and also as another way to OTK. But I personally don't think it's currently worth a slot in the deck, but who knows? DL Meta is always unexpected that GG EZ might be worth it.
Another weird card to assess... This card has been known by the Live Twin community to be horrendous. It has never been worth a slot in TCG/MD/OCG, but with how different Duel Links is there's definitely a chance of it being playable. A way to stop attacks, make your other Evil★Twin effect live, and a way to recycle the Links could very well be good enough in DL. For now, we'll ignore the card as is and play it at 0, but be sure to watch out for meta developments in the deckbuilding.
Skills
The Legend of the Heroes. Gives you 2k LP if you control both Evil★Twins Ki-sikil and Lil-la, and also recycles your Link Monsters while adding Loading... to help in the Grind Game. What I personally think is the best skill for the deck, and it's accessible by every character too! Skud and Blair finally playable???
Fiend Farewell. Sends Loading... from Deck to GY when a monster you control is destroyed by battle. A consistency skill that can get you access to your OTK more easily. Think of it as a Draw Sense Skill that doesn't take up your Normal Draw, albeit the activation is a bit more harder to achieve since most decks can just remove your twins before attacking.
Notable Techs
Can help you dodge effects that target your Live☆Twins, while also trading for a card your opponent has. If you don't know how it works: Chain Link 1 Normal Summon Twin, Chain Link 2 Loading... /Loading... . With E-Con, you get to steal one of the opponent's monsters and link them off with your Twin for free removal. With Crosswipe, you get to destroy any card which can help deal with Backrow, and since your board is empty thanks to Crosswipe when the new Twin gets summoned from deck, their effects will activate which will let you summon another twin from deck! E-Con is preferred as it works with the Fiend Evil★Twins, while Crosswipe only works on the Cyberse Live☆Twins, which means it can also work was disruption on your opponent's turn.
Loading... can be seen as a Cynet Crosswipe that works with the Evil★Twins, but as a Trap Card. Getting an Evil★Twin off the board on your opponent's turn is usually a valuable effect, as it makes the other Evil★Twin effect online. In these cases, it's usually Ki-sikil that gets tributed, which means Ballista Squad not only translates into a "Destroy a card" but also as a "Draw 1 card".
Alternatives for Ki-sikil & Lil-la. The Chaos Monsters have always synergized well in Twins since they have the Chaos Attributes being LIGHT and DARK. Although unsearchable in the archetype, the help of Draw Sense: High-Level should make them more consistent to see in your hands. Not having to tribute both Evil Twins on board is a great benefit to them as well over Loading... . Also they actually have effects that can activate unlike Ki-sikilLilla who won't work 80% of the time.

The Missing Pieces
- Loading... and Loading... are both extenders and the best targets to summon from the deck. Most notably, Ki-sikil Frost can gain you more advantage with her ability to draw a card by banishing herself from the GY when your opponent draws a card.
- Loading... is another way to gain access to the starters while also providing burn damage to help with winning.
- Loading... is a Loading... on a trap card that has an additional effect to Link Summon an Evil★Twin Monster after summoning from the GY, perfect for recovery.
- Loading... fixes all the problem the deck has. From dealing damage, to dodging effects, to dismantling boards, you name it.
