Red-Eyes being able to summon a minimum 2800 ATK monster with 1 or multiple targeting negates and being able to abuse a really broken card for Duel Links in Power of the Guardians makes it a Top Tier deck. Even though it can get hard countered in a Bo3 format this deck deserves to maintain the Tier 1 title for another week.
Subterrors continue to be one of the most dominant forces in the meta. Their extremely unfair openings which are basically auto-wins just give them a huge advantage over a lot of other decks.
Subterrors is arguably the most dominant deck of this format. Thanks to the powerful effects of Subterror Behemoth Umastryx and Subterror Behemoth Stygokraken in combination with Subterror Final Battle - one of the most complete traps in the game - they can easily control the frontrow and the backrow snowballing the advantage each turn.
Subterrors dominance continues to show as it consistently has the highest representation in top cuts out of any deck across several tourneys recently. The deck’s power to deal with almost any other deck on the Tier List, its consistency and the power of Subterror Nemesis Warrior and Subterror Final Battle make it a top choice for tournaments.
Subterrors continue to be one of the most represented and dominant forces in the tournament scene. Tsukuyomi being a new option to enable the bigger monsters and serve as a body definitely gave the deck a slight boost in resiliency.
Spellbooks having a more consistent way to get out Silent Magician faster thanks to the skill Light and Dark and having the non targeting banishing effect from Spellbook of Fate makes them a strong deck, countering Red-Eyes, but also has a hard time against Subterrors.
Blue-Eyes just can’t keep up with the meta. Setting a The White Stone of Ancients or a Dawn Knight used to be an extremely strong opening but it’s just not enough anymore. Decks now have too many way to deal with the 3000 ATK beatsticks, countering the biggest strength of Blue-Eyes.
Blue-Eyes has lost the dominance it had in the previous format. Players will have to shake up the current standard build otherwise it will struggle greatly to keep up with the other Top Tier decks.
The addition of Block Dragon increased the consistency of Gem-Knights, which now can pull FTKs easier than before. The deck definitely has brick hands but skills like Spell Specialist, Restart etc. can reduce the amount of those. Expect this deck to see a lot of play the upcoming weeks and maybe get tiered.
Triamids is an interesting archetype recently added in Duel Links, the deck has power to swarm the board, set card destruction, attack boosting and effect negation during attacks makes it an all around deck with multiple tools. The deck will get optimized throughout the week, is also expected to be strong in tournaments and probably Tiered in the upcoming weeks.
Magnets and Triamids came out about a week ago. The decks still need time to be properly optimized, but definitely are Tier-worthy.
Amano Stun has lost the surprise factor that granted some success in the first week of release. The Counter Fairy package, while being very powerful and unexpected at first, seems less and less viable because easier to play around. Players will likely have to explore new alternatives for this deck to have a chance at getting tiered.
Magnets have received a good boost from the new box and if Konami releases 2 more copies of Beta The Electromagnet Warrior the deck will finally be very competitive. As of now, it seems current builds lack some optimization to be on par with other tiered decks but it’s arguably the second best deck from the new box.
Triamids seem, after the first week of release, the most complete deck of the new box. Thanks to the spot removal granted by cards like Triamid Master and Triamid Pulse and some of the powerful effects of their Field Spells, the deck has a lot to offer. We can likely expect good tournament results in the upcoming weeks.
Amano Stun is being experimented with using different engines right now. Some of them have had tournament success. It will be exciting to see what engine ultimately becomes the definitive one to be used.
