Top Player Council Thoughts
“Thoughts on DNA Surgery?”
Could be a good card in a side deck format to improve Vampires or Spellbooks match ups, however in a 2 deck format you would probably be safer running Treacherous Trap Hole, Paleozoic Canadia, etc. For sure would get 3 copies of this though to hold onto for now.
In the currect meta and in the side deck format, this card can be really good.
Super cool to have this card at 3. Not going to be very relevant right now most likely, but I expect it to be in the future.
Used to be good in side deck format, but doo doo right now. 💩
I think it’s not as effective as it used to be back then when Spellbooks were the deck of the meta. The only thing I find this card being relevant against is Vampires, but most of the time they’ll be discarding the fodder from hand rather than the field. Of coruse it can somehow be used in meme decks.
Declare “Insect” and tribute your opponent’s monster with Cocoon of Evolution!
May see use in a side deck format.
Even if we switched back to side-deck format for tournaments you likely wouldn’t want to side more than two type-changing backrow in most situations anyway. We already had one DNA Surgery and one Zombie World (which is faster since it’s a spell) so I don’t expect these to make much difference in any scenario other than boosting consistency for some sick meme-decks.
Good card, especially for side deck tournaments, and cyber memes.
“Thoughts on Harpie Lady 1?”
Way too late to have any relevance currently, with Harpies being far from competitive in today’s meta. Also, all she really does is add 300 ATK to specifically Wind monsters, and attack boost effects really aren’t too strong currently.
It’s more of a nostalgic card than anything else.
Doo doo! 💩
This makes 0 difference in the current Harpies decks and the meta. It’s actually worse than the Cyber Harpie Lady anyway, so that really makes this addition useless, more than it already seems.
Helps a swarm of Harpies gets over big monsters. Not too much to say about this to be honest.
Harpies are to slow for this meta.
“Thoughts on Hanewata?”
Should have for sure been released back in a meta where Burn/Stall was much more dominant and actually played. Those decks were hit hard by skill nerfs and have been weakened to the point where they can’t keep up with the meta.
Very trash, even if burn becomes relevant again.
Ayyyy more shit tuners.
Super doo doo. 💩
Whenever burn becomes meta, might see some play, otherwise it’s pretty trash.
If we ever get another FTK format this would be cool, but we don’t use side decks in DLM currently.
Instant fodder for Junk Synchron for a double synchro. Otherwise, side format, against burn-like decks.
At this point any and all tuners are welcome. We don’t have any effect damage-heavy decks in the meta so this still isn’t great, but it’s a hand trap tuner so let’s take what we can get for now.
Might be good if burn becomes viable.
“Thoughts on Giganticastle?”
Nothing much more than a 9 star vanilla beater. Would require a weird comination of levels and very costy on fodder. Not really the type of Synchro we were hoping for.
One of the worst generic Synchros that could be brought into the game, I don’t really expect something decent from the Card Trader.
Ayyyy more shit generic Synchros.
It’s basically a beatstick with no effect, not sure how much this helps synchro decks, but seems very underwhelming.
A generic level 9 that attacks over almost every relevant monster. It’s not great but it has its uses.
Can create random comebacks solely on how big it can get. Relevant for attacking over Wiz, Sage Fur Hire too!
For those of you that have always wanted a harder to summon version of Blue-Eyes White Dragon that belongs to a much less supported monster type (Rock), now’s your time to shine!
3100 ATK, beater not good.
