In case you missed it, this week’s Meta Weekly was the last Weekly before the KC Cup. As such, we more or less had a fairly stabilized meta, with several showings from the Top Decks. In the finals, we had a Star Seraph Darklord Mirror, with Skilla besting snek.
How did it go for you today?
I bricked twice against the Mirror Match in the first game and started the tournament with an 0-1 record. My other rounds were often 2-0, but there were times I bricked or drew badly and had to play very mindfully.
Why did you go with Star Seraph Darklorsd for this tournament?
I love midrange decks and Starlords is the epitome of a midrange deck. They have a lot of tool box plays, and can play both aggressively and defensively. Also, who doesn’t love Pot of Greed (Darklord Ixchel is the best card!).
Would you like to explain any of your Deck choices?
I tried a lot of different techs, and at first I wanted to play two Forbidden Lance or Mystical Space Typhoon because I hate losing to backrow. But then I decided on the old standby of Book of Moon because it’s a standalone card that lets you play both offensively and defensively. It outs so much!
Karma Cut is a very strong card and overperformed for me in this event! It also synergizes very well with the Darklords and lets you play mindgames. Additionally, the GY banish is still interesting, especially against Blue-Eyes.
Lastly, Do you have any shout-outs you’d like to make?
Shout-outs to my team Toxic Nightmare, who have always had my back and tested new tech with me. I would also like to give a shout-out to my girlfriend, I love you!
